QuickFire® HD connection system

The quickfire HD drilling system for horizontal directional drilling

The QuickFire HD system offers ease of use and reliability-minded features, including dual heavy-duty collar retention roll pins. The collar can be assembled at any orientation — eliminating the need to rotate the collar for alignment with the retention bolt hole. While the QuickFire HD system shares the same thread profile as the original system, the patented pin design helps transfer bending loads away from the thread profile to help extend wear life.

Ultra X3 drilling system

Multiple parts of the Ultra X3 drilling system

The Vermeer Ultra X3 offers interchangeable pilot and pullback tooling without torqued or threaded components, as well as the ability to ream directly off the transmitter housing. And (for certain applications), it can eliminate the expense of starter rods and adapters. The Ultra X3 has a strong spline connection capable of handling the torque of reaming diameters up to 10 in (25 cm) directly off the transmitter housing in most conditions.

Reamers

Fluted

A black fluted reamer for horizontal directional drilling

Vermeer fluted reamers conquer the job with a robust through-shaft design and heat-treated, cast-alloy steel for durability. Vermeer fluted reamers include robotically applied carbide mesh grit for extended life. Available with rotary or shark teeth to create an aggressive cutting action and ideal for rugged ground conditions ranging from hard pan and soft rock to cobble.

Mix Master™ HD

A mix master hd reamer for horizontal directional drilling

The Vermeer Mix Master HD reamer is built on an API Reg Box x Pin. Thick, gusseted plates improve durability and feature open sections (on applicable sizes) to improve mixing and fluid flow. Rotary teeth aid in increasing durability of the MXHD and are placed in a progressive pattern to create a smooth, spiral cutting action throughout. Fluid ports located within the plates face forward and rearward allowing greater fluid distribution to maintain bore integrity, hydrate the bore path and clean rotary teeth.

Supreamer

Take on the big jobs with the Supreamer reamer’s mixing action — made possible by its open-bodied design and ruggedly large paddles. Includes front and rear-facing oversized carbide shark teeth tooling for aggressive cutting action and ease of pushback when the job demands it.

T-REX

Take a bite out of tough conditions. Ruggedly constructed with work-hardened, high-alloy steel, this reamer incorporates a unique, steep, rear-tapered design for ease of pushback for the tough jobs. Optional built-in swivel or through-shaft designs are available. High-wear areas are made to last with a resilient carbide mesh grit hardfacing. Equipped with oversized shark teeth tooling for aggressive, yet smooth, cutting action, the T-REX reamer is ready for cobble, chunk rock and soft rock.

Individual, dome-style carbide teeth are designed to absorb the shock of hard conditions while the narrow bottom (NB) allows the teeth to be positioned close together, minimizing exposure to the bit body and helping retention deep into the wear life.
