New Vermeer TR6500TX trommel screen with tracks for enhanced jobsite mobility and efficiency

New Vermeer TR6500TX trommel screen with tracks for enhanced jobsite mobility and efficiency
Vermeer introduces the new TR6500TX trommel screen, now on tracks for maximum jobsite mobility. This machine combines a robust feature set with a mobile design to help boost productivity for recycling operations.

Vermeer is expanding its trommel screen lineup with the new TR6500TX, a new tracked unit in the company's extensive portfolio. The TR6500TX features a tracked undercarriage, a large hopper, a digital drum angle readout and a full-function remote control to help optimize jobsite productivity and efficiency. It is a powerful, versatile solution for material processing operations, including those in the compost, mulch and soil industries.

"We designed the TR6500TX for the professional operator who demands jobsite efficiency. It's a machine that can be tracked, set up and operated by a single person, which is a huge advantage for many mulch and compost yards," said Jay Van Roekel, product manager for Vermeer environmental equipment. "We've built on our legacy of reliable trommel screens and added features that give operators the adaptability and control needed to produce a consistent, high-quality end-product of various material types."

Enhanced mobility meets proven performance

The key feature of the TR6500TX is its steel-tracked chassis, which provides on-site mobility without requiring a truck to relocate the machine. This allows operators to easily reposition the machine around a jobsite, leading to compounding efficiency gains throughout the day. Setup is quick and precise thanks to a digital drum angle readout and optional outriggers allowing a single operator to level the machine and optimize the drum angle for different material types.

The TR6500TX is powered by a 120-hp (90-kW) CAT ® 3.6L Tier 4 Final/Stage V engine and is designed for high-throughput applications. With a 20-ft (6.1-m) long, 6.5-ft (2-m) diameter quick-change tension screen drum, it can sort up to 180 yd³ (137.6 m3) per hour. Its drum speed can be adjusted from 0 to 25 rpm to accommodate various material types and moisture content.

For quick loading cycles, the hopper features a large capacity of 13.0 yd³ (9.9 m³) and a low infeed height of just 9.4 ft (2.9 m) at a 5° operating angle. The quick-change screen system enables operators to swap screens efficiently, optimizing end-product specifications with minimal downtime changing screens.

Ultimate operator control

Operators can control the TR6500TX from a loader cab using the included full-function wireless remote. The remote allows for adjustments to belt and drum speed, full control of radial fines and overs conveyors so operators can maintain screening quality as conditions change.

To help minimize dust and material loss in windy environments, the TR6500TX is designed with adjustable discharge conveyors that can be positioned closer to the material pile. An optional drum cover and overs conveyor cover is also available for further dust containment. For operations processing wet materials or seeking higher throughput, an optional dual brush system is available.

Built for efficiency and maintenance

For efficient maintenance, large side doors on the TR6500TX offer complete ground-level access to the drum body and critical engine components.

The machine also integrates with the VermeerOne™ platform, a telematics solution that provides real-time machine data to help operators and fleet managers optimize performance and stay ahead of maintenance.

The TR6500TX complements the existing Vermeer trommel lineup, including the trailer-mounted TR6400 and TR6450 models, giving operations the flexibility to choose between tracked mobility and traditional transport options based on their specific needs.
