Features & Benefits

Heavy-duty screw

The VS510 single-screw vertical mixer comes with standard 5/8-in (15.9-mm) abrasion-resistant AR200 screw flighting and a full set of hard-surfaced knives for long-lasting performance.

Durable tub

Durability and reliability are key components of Vermeer mixers. That's why they're built with heavy-duty, abrasion-resistant AR200 steel, which is approximately twice as hard as regular steel.

Efficient cleanout

The VS510 is designed to optimize speed and evenness of cleanout with three points of contact with the tub floor (two bi-pulse legs and a leading edge of the screw).

4-point scale with Bluetooth connectivity

Achieve defined targets when feeding in multiple pens with the standard 4-point scale. As an added bonus, operators can view their load weight from their smart device with Bluetooth connectivity.

Optional 2-speed gearbox

With an optional 2-speed gearbox, operators can optimize their mixing and feeding. Use the low side (26 rpm) when mixing or processing large round bales. Use the high side (39 rpm) during the last portion of feeding for optimal cleanout.

Extra heavy-duty planetary

Vermeer mixers feature a heavy-duty planetary — the heart of the mixer. The tractor’s PTO powers the screw through a planetary specifically designed to help extend machine life.

Processing ability

Run out of ground hay? No problem. The VS510 single-screw vertical mixer is the smallest mixer available in the Vermeer product lineup that has the ability to process a 5-ft x 6-ft (1.5-m x 1.8-m) large round bale.

Constant-velocity PTO

Constant-velocity PTO allows operators to mix the load while traveling down the road or between pens on their farm or ranch.

Mixing it up

Mixing it up

Every operation is different and there are a lot of options out there on ways to feed your herd. While some people choose to feed in hay ring or bunk through free-choice feeding, many producers find value in using equipment such as vertical mixers, bale processors or feed wagons.

Help prevent costly forage waste, optimize feeding with a vertical feed mixer

Profit margins are usually tight for cattle producers. They’re even tighter if you’re not maximizing your herd’s time at the bunk with maximum nutrition and minimal feed waste. A vertical feed mixer may be part of the feed cost equation for your operation.

Are your cows paying for themselves?

It takes 6 – 7 years for a breeding cow to pay for herself in any cow-calf operation, right? Not always. There are several components of the equation that show whether a cow is financially justifying her presence on your farm or ranch.
