Vermeer Corporation breaks ground on a new state-of-the-art manufacturing facility in Bondurant, highlighting the company’s long-term commitment to innovation and growth in Central Iowa.
Vermeer Corporation breaks ground on a new state-of-the-art manufacturing facility in the Des Moines metro. A ceremony celebrating the milestone occurred today. The groundbreaking highlights the company’s long-term commitment to innovation and growth in Central Iowa.
The groundbreaking event included attendees from Vermeer, city and state representatives including Bondurant city leadership, leadership from the Iowa Economic Development Authority and the Greater Des Moines Partnership and those involved with the building project.
“Today marks an important step in Vermeer’s commitment to growth, the state of Iowa and the greater Des Moines metro. We look forward to being a part of the Bondurant community and building a team and long-term presence here,” said Jason Andringa, president and CEO and third generation family member.
Located on approximately 186 acres in Bondurant, Iowa, the new campus is expected to support more than 300 team members. Newly released renderings of the facility reveal natural lighting, conditioned air throughout, dedicated space to train new-to-production and current production team members along with break rooms to support team members’ well-being and safety.
This facility will serve as a center of excellence for aftermarket components supporting Vermeer’s Cutting Edge business and expand manufacturing capabilities. It will include full-spectrum operations and incorporate advanced manufacturing tools and practices.
Vermeer first established operations in the Des Moines area in 2023, quickly growing in a leased facility into a team of more than 140 team members supporting manufacturing needs. The decision to build a permanent facility in the Des Moines metro is a result of steady, decade-long growth and positions the company for continued expansion.
Strategically located near major interstates, the site enables efficient logistics and access for team members across Central Iowa, while maintaining close connectivity to Vermeer’s global headquarters in Pella.
Construction is expected to begin immediately by Des Moines and Vermeer is proud to announce Jensen Builders will oversee the project. Details on completion and hiring opportunities to be shared as the project progresses.
Manufacturing operations are estimated to begin at the new location mid-2027.
