Matthew Barkdull has joined Vermeer as Pipeline Corporate Accounts Manager. He brings more than 17 years in pipeline construction and heavy equipment rental management to the role and is based in Cypress, Texas.
“Pipeline projects run on tight schedules across hundreds of miles, and contractors expect an equipment partner who can keep pace,” said Dave Wisniewski, vice president of Environmental and Infrastructure Sales at Vermeer. “Matt has supported that kind of work from the dealer side for most of his career, and he brings a network of relationships with him.”
A career built around pipeline equipment
Most recently, Barkdull was a product representative with LaValley Industries, supporting pipeline construction and horizontal directional drilling (HDD) contractors across the southern United States.
Before that, he spent nearly 17 years with PipeLine Machinery International, the global Cat dealer for pipeline construction equipment, working his way from inside service coordinator to rental equipment manager. That work kept him alongside pipeline contractors and Cat dealers on projects around the world.
Supporting large accounts across North America
Barkdull will work with corporate accounts across North America, building sales and service strategies for large national contractors. He will also coordinate field support with the Vermeer dealer network and represent Vermeer at industry events and association committees.
“I look forward to working closely with contractors across the industry, understanding their operational needs, identifying opportunities to improve productivity and connecting them with the equipment and support that drive success,” Barkdull said.
Barkdull holds a Bachelor of Applied Science in technology management from Pittsburg State University and an Associate of Applied Science in diesel technology from Texas State Technical College.
