High-producing haymakers have told us they want three things in their baler: they want it to be strong, fast and smart. So, we got to work to design and build the latest baler from Vermeer — the 604R Premium baler. It may have a new look, but what’s inside and comes out the back of the baler is what matters most. This is premium haymaking.

Features & Benefits

Smart features

Between the auto-eject system that can tie the bale and open and close the tailgate without operator assistance and the net lift system that lifts the roll of netwrap for the operator, this machine provides a smarter, more efficient way to make hay.

Increased capacity

Increased capacity is achieved by belts that spin 19 percent faster than the 604R Signature which allow hay to enter the chamber faster and the bale to tie quicker. Bale density can be controlled in cab from the Atlas Pro™ control system monitor allowing operators to decide how dense to make the bale. The 604R Premium baler can produce bales up to 30% more dense when compared to the 604R Classic and Signature.

Camless pickup

At 71-in (180.3-cm) wide, this camless pickup with rubber-mounted pickup teeth and new poly pickup bands is designed to maximize productivity and help reduce maintenance related to wear parts (the 604R balers have 30 fewer parts compared to previous cammed pickup balers).
