It all began with the first Vermeer rubber tire trenchers that were exported to China in the 1980s. Bigger and more powerful trenchers entered production at the time as new underground pipeline networks connecting energy sources to markets around the world were developed, and the pipeline market took off. With globalization and Asia’s rapid growth,  a design and manufacturing entity, Vermeer Tianjin Manufacturing Co. Ltd., was established in China nearly 25 years later.

Today, the 12,000-square-meter shop floor builds machines to support the region’s expanding utility and pipeline installation, tree care and agriculture operations. With more than 100 team members, Vermeer China is committed to supporting local and select global customers who feed and fuel their communities, connect people to the necessities of life and manage natural resources. We are proud to have a state-of-the-art manufacturing facility, a highly-trained and skilled team, a dedication to continuous improvement and an intense focus on manufacturing and product quality and testing.

For instance, Vermeer saw the need for a full horizontal directional drill portfolio for lesser emission-regulated countries looking for the same premium brand and aftermarket support they expect from Vermeer. Vermeer Tianjin Manufacturing developed their processes for consistency in product quality and support in manufacturing a series of drills specifically for the China and Southeast Asia markets.

On jobsites worldwide, Vermeer delivers a real impact to our customers, making them Equipped To Do More.
