Features & Benefits
Feature: Rubber tires
Benefit: The RTX550 offers different tire options to meet customer application needs or preference.
Feature: TrenchSense Electronic Control System
Benefit: All occurring within a couple seconds, the TrenchSense function can react faster than the operator to prevent engine stall/stop when difficult digging conditions are encountered. By eliminating the need to return controls to neutral and restart, productivity can be increased. Avoiding abrupt engine stop can also reduce premature engine wear.
Feature: Integrated system display
Benefit: The integrated system display allows the operator to easily monitor important machine functions. The capability to monitor the percentage of the hydrostatic capacity being used is especially useful when training inexperienced operators.
Feature: Planetary axles with differential locks
Benefit: The RTX550 undercarriage is designed to help distribute torque equally to all tires/tracks for reduced turf damage, axle stress, and tire/track wear.
Feature: H1 tandem hydraulic pump system
Benefit: The H1 pump design facilitates features like standard Autocreep, which allow precise controllability for increased productivity.
Feature: Battery/hydraulic oil filter compartment
Benefit: This design offers easy access to the battery and hydraulic filters for enhanced serviceability.
Feature: Rotating operator¿s station
Benefit: The swiveling operator¿s station is designed to improve operator visibility of the rear attachment and enhance operator comfort. With a consistent control layout to other Vermeer utility tractors, training time from machine to machine can be reduced.
Feature: Side exhaust
Benefit: The side exhaust allows the operator better visibility from the operator's station and lowers the sound level while at the backhoe operator station.
Feature: One-piece, Lift-off Hood
Benefit: The hood offers easy access to engine service points without detaching shields.
Feature: Backfill blade control
Benefit: The single joystick design simplifies backfill blade operation by eliminating the need for multiple levers.
Feature: Quad track system
Benefit: The rubber quad track system offers many of the benefits of a conventional dual track system including improved floatation, reduced surface damage, increased tractive effort, and greater stability. However, as opposed to a dual track system, the quad track system has relatively no break-over point, allowing full power to all four tracks to maximize tractive effort and stability in uneven terrain. What¿s more, the quad track system integrates many of the features commonly associated with rubber tire units such as four-wheel steer and crab steering to enhance maneuverability.
Feature: Attachment Changeout
Benefit: The standard valve bank allows easy attachment changeout without difficult hydraulic plumbing changes through the tractor.
Feature: Attachment Compatibility/Interchangeability
Benefit: With greater attachment compatibility across model platforms, along with multiple traction options, an owner has greater flexibility in purchasing a machine to best suit his operations.
Feature: 65 hp (48 kW) Cummins Diesel Engine
Benefit: The Cummins engine offers efficient power for high load applications.
