Vermeer Corporation cooperates with several colleges and universities to identify and select intern candidates throughout the year. Some of these schools include Iowa State University, University of Iowa, University of Northern Iowa, Central College, Dordt College, Drake University, University of North Dakota, University of Missouri-Rolla, and the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. Additionally, many of our interns have been previous recipients of the Vermeer Charitable Foundation Scholarship.


Vermeer Corporation is committed to doing our part to develop top college students and potential future employees by exposing them to various business segments within the company. The Vermeer intern program provides students the opportunity to take theories learned in the classroom and apply them in a real-world environment. Offering students a hands-on work experience in an area related to their chosen field of study helps prepare Vermeer interns for their professional future. Assignments and projects will correspond with those of a professional counterpart and will be tailored to fit the student's education level.

While working at Vermeer, interns will receive many of the same benefits that full-time employees enjoy. These benefits include paid holidays, paid time off, as well as the opportunity to participate in Vermeer recreation / reduced-rate ticket events and activities. In addition to commensurate salaries and benefits, Vermeer offers our interns an opportunity to receive an Intern Grant. The Intern Grant serves as a scholarship to aid the successful intern in covering tuition for the upcoming school year.

We believe that our internship program is beneficial for everyone involved. Not only are students able to further develop their abilities and form new skills, but Vermeer is afforded the opportunity to form connections with potential future employees. Vermeer Corporation employs students that are over 18 years of age into our student employment program. This includes summer, Christmas and spring break along with possible part-time hours during the school year.

Our initial hiring focus is children or family members of our current employees who most closely fit the requirements of the position. If additional opportunities are available, we will extend them to students who most closely meet the requirements of the position.
