The Manufacturing Engineer III coordinates the flow of materials through assigned plants through the support and implementation of lean principles.  This role determines cost effective methods of manufacturing and design enhancements resulting in gross margin improvement.

This role is responsible to guide engineering and production in the creation and implementation of lean design changes that improve manufacturability of parts. Review and direct ECN releases for production. Assist in achieving individual and team goals which are aligned with the Organization’s business strategies and objectives.

Your Responsibilities:

  • Guide engineering and production in the creation and implementation of lean design changes that improve manufacturability of parts insuring the use of the NPPDS system.
  • Provide link between production and new product engineering on product launches to ensure expectations are met.
  • Understand customer need and what is required to build quality into a product the first time.  Provide feedback to internal and external customers
  • Supervise assigned personnel in performance of their duties such that performance exceeds or meets expectations.  Assist in achieving individual and team goals which are aligned with the Organizations’ business strategies and objectives.
  • Initiate standardization of methods, processes, and design features.  Analyze machine utilization and recommend changes as needed.
  • Manage scrap reduction efforts, as well as document and direct cost and gross margin opportunities.
  • Review and direct ECN releases for production.
  • Formulate documentation and sharing of best practices, produce plant layouts to improve the flow of material and people, and direct Expect the Best design print changes for assigned plants.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in ITEC, ME, or IE with 5-10 years engineering experience in the manufacturing industry, and/or combination of education and  experience. 
  • Lean manufacturing experience is a plus. 
  • Knowledge of  assembly and welding techniques, JIT manufacturing processes.
  • Some travel is required, including weekends, on an as needed basis.
