Cutting Edge Division - Dave

The Senior Project Engineer conducts design, development and initial manufacture of new products in the assigned division.  This position directs service, warranty and enhancement engineering tasks as they relate to customer satisfaction and builds products by new design oversight and by fostering personnel competency. This role also tests project requirements to ensure effective test completion of production and good selections for vendor partnership.

Your Responsibilities:

  • Ensure all project needs are being met to achieve goals in the original set time frame.  This includes, but is not limited to, securing additional resources, setting daily or weekly priorities for project team members and working with the more challenging situations or people.
  • Identify customer needs that are both articulate and inarticulate without impact to the overall project timeline.
  • Complete project paperwork and adminstrative documentation.
  • Communicate project needs to all involved parties.
  • Execute major decisions on project direction at critical stages.
  • Ensure that project goals, such as test plans, production preparation plans, and product performance plans, are met.  If goals are not, make appropriate adjustments to go into implementation. 
  • Supervise assigned personnel in performance of their duties such that performance exceeds or meets expectations.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Mechanical or Agricultural preferred with at least 10 years experience with engineering.
  • Ability to read, analyze and interpret the most complex documents.  Ability to respond effectively to the most sensitive inquiries or complaints.
  • Must be proficient in materials strength calculation skills, CAD software, Solid Works, Smart Team, CHESS, Outlook, Cognos, E-mail, Ease and Microsoft Office programs including, but not limited to, Excel, Word and Access.
  • Ability to design, develop and launch industrial heavy hydraulic equipment from a project engineering position.
  • Ability to design, develop and launch industrial heavy hydraulic equipment from a project engineering position.
  • Ability to demonstrate to employees, customers and dealers the product needs to better define the product.
  • Ability to understand and operate normal mechanics tools, such as lathes, drills and torches. 
  • Ability to supervise staff in the performance of duties such that performance meets or exceeds expectations.
  • Knowledge of customer satisfaction, machine manufacture, hydraulic systems and 24/12/6 volt electrical system.
