The Embedded Software Engineer’s primary responsibilities are developing, integrating, testing, and debugging embedded software for Vermeer machine control systems. The Embedded Software Engineer will also provide support and guidance to production and dealership technical personnel in regards to new product launches and technical issues as they relate to existing machines and software issues.

Your Responsibilities:

  • Develop, integrate, test, and debug application firmware for Vermeer machine control systems.
  • Support other engineering groups, production, suppliers, safety, sales, service, etc. in order to provide engineering related information to meet project goal assigned.
  • Support the Service Department including service trips as designated by the Engineering Manager.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Electronics, or Machine Control with at least 4 years of job experience and/or training is preferred.  Master of Science Degree is preferred.
  • Knowledge in the areas of electronic circuits, microcontroller architectures and  principles of operation. Ability to read electrical and electronic schematics. Preferred knowledge in electronic hardware and PCB design.
  • Knowledge in control system theory and applications. Preferred knowledge in the control system design for off road vehicles, CAN and J1939 protocols.
  • Experience with Embedded C language programming.  Preferred experience with assembly and C++ language..
  • Experience with test equipment such as power supplies, oscilloscopes, and signal generators.
  • Ability to provide informative and professional assistance when working with the public/customers and co-workers.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of engineering processes; cost and functional performance, the ability to read and create appropriate project documentation.
  • Ability maintaining positive interpersonal relationships which encourage openness with customers and peers.
    Ability to produce accurate, professional and error-free documents in a timely manner.
  • Demonstration of good oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to priortize multiple tasks while supporting the department.
  • Ability to effectively manage time and resources.
