“My father is an engineer. As a kid, I saw him building and fixing things,” remembered Nithy. “I used to work along with him which made me decide on a career in engineering.”
Nithy studied engineering for more than nine years, earning his diploma and master's in electrical engineering. He has nearly 14 years of experience working in engineering departments for various companies like Caterpillar and Daimler. After working as an engineer for a while, he realized he valued a healthy work-life balance and working in a close-knit team. When he saw an ad for an engineering role at VEMEA, he felt that it would be a perfect fit for him.
“I wanted to spend more time with the family,” shared Nithy. “I thought this would be the right place.”
So Nithy applied and got the job and now lives in the Netherlands with his family. His current project is to complete work on a new brush chipper. He also partners with the engineering team in Pella on implementing the electrical design in VEMEA. Nithy also helps solve problems in VEMEA that previously, engineers in Pella would have to travel to assist with.
“The team is so small. Everyone knows me and I know everyone,” said Nithy. “I'm really enjoying what I'm doing right now.”
We’re grateful to have engineers like Nithy on the team doing important work with a global team.
